I've been living in Japan since I was age 20 so I was never really an adult in an English-speaking country. When I have to do some kinds of transactional procedures, etc. in English I sometimes feel like I'm a character in a movie as my knowledge of what to say derives more from the media than regular exposure.
I've never been an adult in an English speaking country either, and I think my local husband does most of the grown up stuff here in Asia. So sometimes I feel like I'm still waiting to grow up.
